Will you be receiving a 1099-K next year? The Housing Assistance Tax Act of 2008 included a provision that requires card payment networks (the organizations that process credit and debit card payments) to prepare Form 1099-K on behalf of their client companies starting in 2011. This form will report the total dollar value of card transactions processed on your behalf.
The Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act of 2010 extended the closing deadline from June 30, 2010 to September 30, 2010. There are special filing and documentation requirements that apply to anyone claiming the homebuyer credit. Contact us for more information.
The recently enacted HIRE Act was designed to stimulate employment by extending the Sec 179 expensing limits, and creating a Payroll Tax Holiday, as well as a $1,000 Retained Worker credit. For more info click HIRE Act
The New Health Care Legislation will be phased in over several years. Notably, there will be changes to what over-the-counter medications may be reimbursed through FSA and HSA plans, the threshold for deducting medical expenses on Schedule A, and a new 10% tax on Tanning Services.
